traditional art, Artisan Craft

United States
Lucky to have two great men in my life Justin my fiance and Jasper my cat, they are my inspirations.I have been creating art since I can remember and have been highly creative always. My interests are the SCA(Society of Creative Anachronism), sewing costumes, spinning wool and silk, embroidery, making jewelry, hat making, doll/marionette making, wood working, painting, drawing, sculpting and all over crafting and art.
I enjoy most types of folklore, myth and legend. Especially any tales from Europe. I love to play collectable card games, paper and pencil roleplay games like D&D and Whitewolf games. I do play some computer games from time to time.

Current Residence: Muncy, Pa
Print preference: don't like paper much
Favourite genre of music: Heavy metal but I listen to just about anything
Favourite photographer: not sure
Favourite style of art: traditional
Shell of choice: scallop or albalone
Wallpaper of choice: my own
Skin of choice: on my body
Favourite cartoon character: Garfield
Personal Quote: If necessity is indeed the mother of invention then want is indeed the mother of creativity
I have been hired for a new job and will not have time to make gowns for others. So I closed my Etsy shop and am seriously persing my new employment. It's the best thing right now to take this opportunity seriously with Ecolab. So that is the big news, finally got my dream job.

I have made a few gowns from the spring and posted photos of the I'm here. So enjoy the new photos, will be at the Pennsylvania Renaissance Faire with Justin on the 28th for Octoberfest. We normally go to Scottish weekend but we both have other activities going on that weekend. Wondering if I should wear the gold renaissance gown, it's the more German inspired outfit in my current renaissance wardrobe.

Well I got the time to decide. That is the news for now, as I take and make new gowns will posting them as I can.

Future is Bright,

  • Listening to: Lots of Heavy Metal
  • Watching: My cats play around the house
  • Drinking: sweet tea

You ever make it out west to any of the faire's in Colorado or Arizona? I like your gowns - would consider buying one for the wife, but PA is along way from us in Utah... kinda hard to get a fitting that way ya know.

Unfortunately I do not get to travel much, especailly out west. Though I thank you for the consideration on a gown. I do alot of custom gowns thought the mail based on measurements and such. So getting one is not out of reach. Depending on the complexity of the gown directly effects how much time it takes to complete one. I have an ad on ety for custom gowns, and only have one commision due in July so my schedule is open.

I absolutely adore your work, it's gorgeous! I very much hope that you take many more photos of all of your garb, not even professional, just some nice pictures that show different angles and poses, maybe with a pretty historical backdrop (although not exactly easy to find in north america :( ), because I am dying to see more of your costumes! :D

Thank you, Thank you! I wish I could get better backdrops and someone to take the photos but for now these will have to do. I will see about posting more photos of each gown. Again thank you for the complements, there are more new gowns to come in 2012!

Yay! I'm so excited :)
Oh, do you line your entire gowns in fur? I'm currently working on a 1530's Tudor gown, but I think I might just have to do the sleeves and borders of the skirt in fur, otherwise I'm afraid I'd roast, especially while dancing. Or if you do line them fully, how are the dresses, temperature wise?

if you are interested in buying a gown from me or having one custom made let me know.

I don't line the whole gown in fur but in period they would have with the houses being drafty and such. Though my one gown is edged and sleeved in faux fur, it is way warm enough. Yeah it may not be a dancing gown with all that fur even as just edging. I save mine for especially for cold or prolong cold outdoor events, it works great for that. My gowns are on the warm side; using polyester blends of damask syntheics on the outside layer really keeps the heat in. I line all my gowns in natural linen, its traditional and works well if you use natural wool or heavier linen outer layer its not so bad but doesn't look quite as fancy.
